The Garmin cigarette lighter socket is very dissapointing for a product this nice, so I cut it off and soldered the connections. - Laurie Bridger (Laurie) Viewed: 2235 times.

| The ground connectors don't actually make contact unless squeezed tightly, and unless the socket is in exactly right, the unit wouldn't turn on. Not acceptable for a rough bouncy vehicle like the Jeep, so I pulled it apart and hard wired the connections. - Laurie Bridger (Laurie) Viewed: 2187 times.
